As a child, I always knew I wanted to work in a bank but, while studying Business and Finance at College, I did work experience at Ramsay Brown and Partners and enjoyed it so much that I decided to become an accountant instead. I left college and worked for a medium sized firm of accountants in their small business department for two years and studied for my AAT exams. I re-joined Ramsay Brown and Partners in April 1996 in the accounts department and began my training as a Chartered Accountant in 1997. In September 2000, I qualified and moved into the tax department. After three years as a Tax Manager, I became a partner at Ramsay Brown and Partners in 2003.

In April 2019, Ramsay Brown and Partners split, and together with my former partners, Stuart Singer, Kate Perry and Katie Singer we launched RBP Chartered Accountants. We continue to specialise in dealing with the medical profession and we are excited about our future and the great team we have.

I enjoy building good working relationships with my GP clients and not only seeing them to discuss their accounts but supporting them through the challenges that General Practice is faced with. I head up our superannuation team and have an in-depth knowledge of the NHS Pension Scheme and the tax implications this has for GPs. I also write articles and I enjoy lecturing to GPs, practice managers and trainee GPs. I am also a co-author of “Understanding Practice Accounts”.

Working full-time and being a mum to a toddler doesn’t leave much time for hobbies but the time I do have is spent with my husband, Declan, our mischievous son Ben, and family and friends. I also love making cakes and have made wedding cakes and celebration cakes for friends.
